Burning Uke is a fun-filled 3-day event for ukulele players at any level of experience. It is held at the beautiful Mt. Cross camp and conference facility in the Santa Cruz mountains.

Accommodations include tent camping, RV space, spacious shared cabins, and dorms (up to 6 people in a room), and shared lodge rooms (up to 4 people per room). Ticket prices vary (see below).

Meals Included: Friday dinner. Saturday breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Sunday breakfast and lunch. (Vegetarian meals available.)

At Mt. Cross Ministries Outdoor Conference Center, 7795 Highway 9, in Ben Lomond (1.5 miles from Felton). See directions below.

Mt. Cross is a Lutheran Ministries facility, located in the coastal redwood forest of the Santa Cruz Mountains, 20 minutes from the Santa Cruz beaches. It facilitates summer camp and year round retreat programs for all ages.

Mt. Cross is an ADA compliant wheelchair accessible facility.

Hollywood Star

Come celebrate “Hooray for Hollywood” with the Ukulele Club of Santa Cruz. Be ready to dress in a Hollywood theme. There will be lots of jamming, workshops, performances, socializing, and fun for everyone and a bunch of hiking trails to explore.

No animals are allowed.

Ticket Prices

Full Weekend (Friday 1:00 P.M.–Sunday 4:00 P.M.). Includes 6 meals (Friday dinner; Saturday breakfast, lunch, and dinner; Sunday breakfast and lunch).

Day Passes:

Availability limited. Day passes will not be sold until the overnight lodging is full. We need to know what the parking availability will be.

Tent Campers:

$210 per person. Includes six meals. Bring your own tent, sleeping bags, and camping gear.

RV Campers:

$210 per person. Includes six meals. RV spaces do not have electrical, water, or septic hookups. The RVs will be in the parking lot and limited to 25'. And, with limited space we cannot take trailers.

Madrone Cabins:

$225 per person. Several separate cabins are situated around the shared bathroom building. Each cabin has 5 bunks. No one will be assigned to a top bunk. Linens (sheets, pillow case, blanket, towel) and 6 meals are included. Electricity is available.

You will be required to walk up a hill to get to the cabins. We suggest that you pack light. Access is only by walking in. And, you will need a flashlight.

Evergreen and Redwood Dorms:

$225 per person.These two buildings are set up like dorms. Each building has 4 rooms with 6 bunks. No one will be assigned to a top bunk. A men’s and women’s bathrooms are located inside the building. Linens (sheets, pillow case, blanket, towel) and 6 meals are included. Electricity is available.

You will be required to walk up a hill to get to the dorms. We suggest that you pack light. Access is only by walking in. And, you will need a flashlight.

Lodge:

$275 per person. The lodge is centrally located with separate rooms that have beds and bunks. Rooms accommodate 2–5 people. We do not assign anyone to a top bunk. A men’s and women’s bathroom is inside the lodge. Linens (sheets, pillow case, blanket, towel) and 6 meals are included. Electricity is available.

Even though the lodge is the closest accommodation, you will need to carry your things from the parking lot up a small hill. Bring a flashlight.

Coming From the North
(San Jose - Hwy 280, 101, 680, and 880):

Take Highway 17 South towards Santa Cruz, take the Mt. Hermon Rd exit in Scotts Valley. Exit to the right and follow Mt. Hermon Rd through the town of Scotts Valley and continue about 3 miles to the end of Mt. Hermon Rd. into Felton. Turn right onto Graham Hill and stay in the right lane. At the light, which is Highway 9, make another right. The Camp is about 1.5 miles from that point on the left. There is a large Mt. Cross sign on the highway marking the entrance to the camp. Once you have turned into camp, you will cross over a short bridge, stay to the right, and park in the parking lot.

Coming From the South (Santa Cruz - Hwy 1):

Take Highway 17 North to the Scotts Valley / Big Basin exit. Go over the freeway and continue on Mt. Hermon Rd. through Scotts Valley. After Scotts Valley, continue about 3 miles to the end of Mt. Hermon Rd. into Felton. Turn right onto Graham Hill and stay in the right lane. At the light, which is Highway 9, make another right. The camp is about 1.5 miles from that point on the left. There is a large Mt. Cross sign on the highway marking the entrance to the camp. Once you have turned into camp, you will cross over a short bridge, stay to the right, and park in the parking lot.
